This year is going to be an exciting one across the fifth grade. We will discover many things in Grade 5: what a typical day was like during the Colonial era and what it feels like to travel in the space shuttle. Your child will experience unknown lands with the explorers and the cultures of early Native Americans.
In October, we will be taking a trip to the Franklin Mineral Museum. Our fifth graders will have a chance to explore science up close when they explore a mine and create their personal rock collections.
DARE will be a large part of your child’s drug and alcohol education this year. A local police officer will be coming to speak to the fifth grade during a 10-week program. This will be an excellent time for your children to hear firsthand why these substances are dangerous and how to stay away from them.
