The ESL students are having a wonderful start of the 2008-2009 school year! ESL is an additional school service provided to enable your children to succeed in the grade-level classroom.  We will work with classroom teachers to help the children develop English language skills, cultural awareness and learning strategies which they will need to work successfully with the school curriculum.  ESL support is a pull-out program.  Your child will be in a small group for specialized language instruction.  The focus of the instruction will be based on speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English. 

        So far we have been busy learning vowel and consonant sounds and a rich vocabulary in small group instruction.  All of the activities are visual and hands-on.  Additionally, with the use of technology including the Smart Board, the students are active participants and enjoy learning English!
