Welcome back! We are so excited to be back in school and are ready to learn lots of new things! We are making new friends and working together. We are working very hard in Language Arts to become excellent readers. We get better each day. In math we are reviewing and learning new concepts. We are excited about the new items in our math center and love playing math games. We plan on having the best year ever!
Mrs. Reuter
Welcome Back to School! The MD class is doing great work as they start off the new school year! Students are learning skills to become better readers through our Triumphs reading series. I am so proud of their eagerness to learn! In Math, students are learning and reviewing basic concepts, math facts, addition and subtraction and regrouping! We will be starting multiplication soon. Our Social Studies activities will include learning map skills and learning about our families and community. In Science, we will be discussing the fall weather and animal life cycles.
During the fall months we will be focusing on many different hands-on activities. We just completed a family apple tree project. Be sure to stop by to see all of our “good work” on display! It is so good to be back!

I am so excited to welcome you. I know it’s going to be a great year. We started off the year by reviewing our Orton Gillingham Phoneme Cards. Through out the year we will be doing some journal writing. We have already used a picture prompt to write our first journal entry. The students really enjoyed this assignment!
We will be reading from our Treasures books and various leveled readers. Some of the skills we will be learning about in the beginning of the year are: character and plot, setting, compare and contrast, summarizing and cause and effect.
I am looking forward to this year. It should be an exciting learning experience!
Ms. Taite
Welcome back! I hope everyone enjoyed their summer. The students are all back and working very hard in the classroom. This year, I will also focus on the older students becoming more independent in their assignments as well as for themselves. Middle school will be here before they know it!
I am also very anxious to refresh the students in the Orton Methodology we began last year. This increased their ability to spell as well as to read. Many of the students embraced the concept and learned from it. They all have binders which they helped organize last year.
In Math, we will build upon the concepts taught and refresh our math facts! The students seem to enjoy Math and all the hands-on activities that we do in the class.
I am looking forward to a spectacular year!
Miss Bovino
It’s that time again, back to school! As we get settled in our new classrooms and get used to our new schedules, it is hard to believe that September is really here. I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer and are looking forward to a great school year.
In resource room, we are ready to learn and have some fun. In first grade we are getting ready to start reading books and writing in our journals. In 2nd grade we are getting used to reading and writing again. We are improving on our comprehension skills and in the upcoming months we will be discussing the elements of a story. In 3rd grade, we are another year “older and wiser.” We are exploring the writing process and will be writing scary stories for all to read.
In 2nd grade math, we are adding, subtracting and looking forward to learning how to regroup. In 1st grade math, we are beginning our unit on number sense and exploring addition using blocks, number lines, and pictures.
I hope everyone has a wonderful year and continues to try their best!!
