Mrs. Lisa Horgan

Lisa Horgan received a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC) in Elementary and Special Education. Her love of reading influenced her to obtain a Master’s Degree from STAC as a Reading Specialist. Mrs. Horgan has been teaching in New Milford since 2005!  A former BSI LAL teacher, she is currently teaching a collaborative 1st grade with Mrs. Smith at Berkley School. A strong advocate for cooperative learning, hands-on, and differentiated instruction, she involves her students in various activities where their educational and social skills can truly blossom. Students learn in a classroom where Mrs. Horgan facilitates instruction, and her students have the opportunity to achieve their goals cooperatively and independently.  Her professional interests focus on enhancing the curriculum by creating meaningful centers where students can explore the concepts as well as learning how to work together. Mrs. Horgan was recognized as Berkley School's Teacher of the Year for the 2018-2019 school year -- truly an honor!  Mrs. Horgan enjoys spending time with her family & friends!
