From a young age, reading and writing have been an important part of my life.  I graduated with a B.A. in English from Rutgers University in 2005 and received a M.A. in English Language Arts Education from Rutgers University in 2006.  This is my 16^th year teaching in New Milford.  I began my career as a high school English teacher at New Milford High School.  In my 4 years at the high school, I taught 9^th through 12^th grade English.  This is my 11^th year at David E. Owens where I am currently teaching 6^th grade Language Arts. 

In 6^th grade Language Arts, students will get acclimated to the expectations of middle school Language Arts as they transition from elementary school.  Students will strive to be better readers and writers utilizing the Reading and Writing Workshop model.
