The Wizard, The Witch, & Two Girls from Jersey -- Lisa Papademetriou -- When mortal enemies Veronica and Heather get hit by a bar code scanner while fighting over the last copy of a hot fantasy novel, they are transported into the novel. Satisfying fare for fantasy lovers who appreciate broad humor laced with a sprinkling of grossness.
Beautiful Lies -- Lisa Unger -- Spine-tingling suspense evoking the danger and glamour of New York City is matched by Unger's skill in creating memorable, realistic characters. Most notable is protagonist Ridley Scott, a freelance writer whose life changes when she rescues a toddler who wanders into traffic.
Nothing to Lose -- Lincoln Child -- Jack Reacher goes up against a whole town, hunting the rich man at its core, cracking open his terrifying agenda, asking the question: Who has the edge - a man with everything to gain, or a man with nothing to lose?"
Newer Nonfiction
Reconciliation -- Benazir Bhutto -- Just prior to her assassination, Bhutto completed this book that discusses misconceptions about Islam, the role of Islam in politics, its compatibility with democracy, and the strategies of the US "War on Terror".
In Their Shoes -- Deborah Reber -- This fun, accessible book should appeal to teens who are exploring career possibilities. Although the subjects are women, the material applies to everyone. There is also information about networking and stress relief.
The Ten Most Beautiful Experiments -- George Johnson --  Teens will enjoy the science and its respect for the quirky geniuses who dreamed up ways of demonstrating standards and physical laws that we now take for granted. All of the experiments are famous, and some are classroom standards.
