Ruth Beiner has been teaching in New Milford for 12 years as a Family Consumer Science teacher. She spend one year at Berkley Elementary School as a First Grade teacher. Prior to joining the New Milford School district she worked for 9 years as the Clothing Construction teacher in Lincoln Middle School in the city of Passaic.

Mrs. Beiner is one of the Spring Musical producers here at the High School and the color guard advisor for the high school band. 

The Family Consumer Science overview course will provide the students will hands on practical experience to the concepts of personal finance. The students will develop their individual management and goal setting knowledge as they explore various life choices. The course will provide an overview of the following career topics:

Interpersonal relations/ Family Relations

Food and nutrition

Clothing construction, design and consumer marketing

Interior design

College selection

Career planning

Basic budgeting
